I love that God is always at work, all around the world, at all times. In the past few months, I've heard so many stories from people from all around the world and been encouraged by how God has been working in their lives. The particular story that I want to share with you is about a little boy named Peter.
I first met Peter at a church service on a Sunday morning in a village in Papua New Guinea. I'm typically attracted to babies and when I see them I have to go say hello. When I saw Peter he looked like he was only a couple days old. But as I talked to his mother I found out that this little Peter was a miracle and had more to him than meets the eye.
Peter was born 3 months prematurely (so when his birth mother was 6 months pregnant). His birth mom didn't want him because he was sick and the medical care in PNG for this circumstance just isn't available, so Peter's birth mom decided she would sell him. She sold little Peter to a nurse in the hospital for 100 Kina which is about 50 dollars.
This nurse told her sister Helen about Peter and Helen's heart was moved for him, so much so that she decided she would adopt him. As Helen prayed about it she felt like God told her to not look at this boy's sickness. Helen was already a mother of two, with her children in their late teens and early twenties. So in praying she asked God, what do I have to give this baby and God responded by giving her breast milk to feed him!
Helen named him Peter, meaning the Rock. He is now 7 months old and is gaining a little weight each day.

Moved to tears by this story. If we, the body of Christ, individually respond to the opportunities at our doorstep, we will change this world!
